All competition registrations must be completed online (we will open the registration for competitions in July).
You will pay and pick up your competition number at the festival on Friday (21:00-22:00) at Autoklub.
Important notes:
• You may only register for competitions once your Week or Weekend Pass registration has been confirmed.
• Unless you are competing in different roles, you may only enter one Mix & Match division
and one Bal-Love Challenge (Strictly) division.
• If you make the finals in either Bal-Love Challenge division, you may not participate in any Mix & Match finals, even if you are selected in the preliminaries. However, you will receive a refund of your Mix & Match entry fee.
We do this to ensure that as many dancers as possible can be featured in the finals.
The Bal-Love Challenge - "Open" division
This is a social dance competition for couples, open to all dancers. We expect many of the festival’s most experienced dancers to take part. You register as a couple to enter the preliminaries, and the judges will select a small group of couples to advance to the finals.
All Balboa, Bal-Swing, and related styles are welcome. Short choreographed sequences and air steps are allowed, but judges will only be impressed if they are executed with rhythm, flow, and connection.
Couples will be judged on technique, musicality, and partnership.
The finals will be danced in spotlight format.
Entry fee 20 EUR / couple

Prelims: Saturday 17.20 at Autoklub (Be there 20 min before to pick up your number and to warm up)
Finals: Saturday during the party (around midnight) at Autoklub

The Bal-Love Challenge - "Rising stars" division
This is a social dance competition for couples intended for dancers who are still developing their competitive experience.
The rules and format are identical to the Open Bal-Love Challenge.
This division is open to dancers who have never made the finals of a Balboa Strictly competition, or who are registered in the Intermediate-Advanced or Advanced class tracks at the festival.
You register as a couple to enter the preliminaries, and the judges will select a small group of couples to advance to the finals.
All Balboa, Bal-Swing, and related styles are welcome. Short choreographed sequences and air steps are allowed, but judges will only be impressed if they are executed with rhythm, flow, and connection.
Couples will be judged on technique, musicality, and partnership.
The finals will be danced in spotlight format.

Balboa Mix & Match - "Open" division
This competition is open to all dancers, but it is primarily intended for the most experienced dancers at the festival—typically those in the Advanced+ or Master class tracks and dancers with several years of competition experience.
Leaders and followers register individually, and partners will be assigned at random. You will dance with multiple partners to a variety of tempos, showcasing your versatility, adaptability, and musical connection.
Judges will select individual dancers to advance to the finals based on technique, flow, musicality, and partnership. Special attention will be given to how well you support your partner while maintaining your own integrity and style.
In the finals, each selected dancer will be paired with a finalist from the Rising Star division.
Finalists will be judged as couples.
All Balboa and Bal-Swing styles are welcome.
