All competition registrations must be completed online. You will pay and pick up your competition number at the festival on Friday (21:00-22:00) at Autoklub.
Important notes:
• You can only register for competitions once your week or weekend pass registration has been confirmed.
• Unless you are competing in different roles, you may only enter one of the Mix & Match competitions.
• If you make the finals in the Bal-Love Challenge, you may not participate in any Mix & Match finals, even if you are selected in the prelims. However, you will receive a refund for your Mix & Match entry fee.
We do this to ensure as many dancers as possible can be featured in the finals.

The Bal-Love Challenge
This is a social competition for couples, open to all dancers. We expect many of the festival’s most experienced dancers to take part. You register as a couple to enter the preliminaries. The judges will select a small group of couples to advance to the finals. Any Balboa, Bal-Swing, or related dancing styles are welcome. Short choreographed sequences and air steps are allowed, but judges will only be impressed if they’re executed with rhythm, flow, and connection.
You will be judged on technique, musicality, and partnership within the couple.
The finals will be danced in spotlight format.
Entry fee 20 EUR / couple

Balboa Mix & Match - Open division
This competition is open to all dancers, but it is especially intended for those with the most experience at the festival—typically dancers in the Advanced+ or Master class tracks who have several years of competition experience. Leaders and followers sign up individually—partners will be assigned at random. You’ll dance with multiple partners to a variety of tempos, showcasing your versatility and musical connection.
Judges will select individual dancers to move on to the finals based on technique, flow, musicality, and partnership. Special attention will be given to how well you support your partner’s dancing while maintaining your own integrity and style.
In the finals, each selected dancer will be paired with a finalist from the Rising Stars division.
Finalists will be judged as couples. All Balboa and Bal-Swing styles are welcome.

Balboa Mix & Match - Rising Star division
This competition is open to dancers who have never made it to the finals in a Mix & Match or who are registered in the Intermediate-Advanced or Advanced class tracks at the festival. Leaders and followers sign up individually—partners will be assigned at random. You’ll dance with multiple partners to a variety of tempos, showcasing your adaptability and social dance skills. Judges will select individual dancers to move on to the finals based on technique, flow, musicality, and partnership. Special attention will be given to how well you support your partner’s dancing while maintaining your own style and integrity.
In the finals, each selected dancer will be paired with a finalist from the Open Mix & Match division.
Finalists will be judged as couples. All Balboa and Bal-Swing styles are welcome.
